Song Meaning: One Direction – Story of My Life

The song is about a love story gone-bad: in the first verses, in fact, the main character thinks about the break-up with a girl whom really loved.
In the hook, the story changes: the boy, who can’t have the true love of her life (because she broke up with him), just passes from one girl to another, trying to convince them and himself that he does love them, but he realizes the he can’t forget the love of her life, who is the one that he can’t have, as well.

[Verse 1: Harry & Liam]
[Harry]
Written in these walls are the stories that I can't explain
This line could mean that he figuratively built a wall that has retention of feelings that are too difficult to clarify. Also, he might be talking about a room/place specifically. The memories made there are so intimate and deep that they can’t be explained with words.”
I leave my heart open but it stays right here empty for days
He’s trying to move on, thus “leaving his heart open” — being open to new love, but no one can fill his heart the way she has.
[Liam]
She told me in the morning she don't feel the same about us in her bones
The feeling of not wanting to be together anymore was so strong and so deep, that she could feel it in her bones.
It seems to me that when I die these words will be written on my stone
By stone, he is referring to his tombstone, saying that her words will be his epitaph. He feels that he will carry the pain for the rest of his life because of the emotional devastation.

[Pre-Chorus: Zayn]
And I'll be gone gone tonight
The ground beneath my feet is open wide
Zayn will be gone tonight as she tells him that she doesn’t feel the same about their relationship. When he leaves he is so broken that it seems like the ground opened up and he can’t stop falling.”
The way that I've been holding on too tight
With nothing in between
This line refers to the way he has been fighting for their love, how he has been ‘holding on’ to what they have in a metaphorical way, when in fact there was no durable nor sustainable love within them. He feels his effort was worthless because, in the end, he loses her anyway, but he can’t let her go.

[Chorus: Harry]
The story of my life, I take her home
I drive all night to keep her warm and time is frozen
(The story of, the story of)
The story of my life I give her hope
I spend her love until she's broke inside
The story of my life (the story of, the story of)
The love he finally receives from her is spent (possibly on another girl?) and now she feels abused because the boy had given her hope for a real relationship, and that’s been the story of his life, always creating a sustainable connection then tearing it down. He has become a guy who gets close and never keeps the connection alive, taking a toll on those who want to love him and those he wants to love.

[Verse 2: Niall]
Written on these walls are the colors that I can't change
Whether the room is a real physical place or not, the stories and the emotions associated with this place are permanent. They can’t be changed.
Leave my heart open but it stays right here in its cage
Now that he has suffered this heartbreak when he opens his heart to love again he can’t do it. This line is saying that his heart is scared to love again.
I know that in the morning now I'll see us in the light upon the hill
He’s saying that he’ll see her everywhere. When he gets up in the morning he’ll see her and be thinking of her even though she is not there. He’s remembering their relationship even though it’s no longer there.
Although I am broken, my heart is untamed still
Although Niall is heart-broken from their break up, he will eventually love again because nobody’s heart is tamable.

[Bridge: Zayn]
And I been waiting for this time to come around
But baby running after you is like chasing the clouds
Catching a cloud is physically impossible and Zayn uses it as a metaphor for trying to get with this girl — no matter how much he tries to run and seize the moment, he’ll never reach her.”
[Middle 8: Niall]
The story of my life, I take her home
I drive all night to keep her warm and time is frozen
Not driving her home in a literal sense. He’s saying that he would do whatever it takes to keep her happy and to keep them together but it’s not enough. Those moments where he made her happy are frozen in time for him.

Natural Phenomenon: Seas That Glow Like Star

It may take you by surprise, but some of the coolest stuff on this earth actually occurs naturally, even though it seems totally fake. Take this beach, for example. All of the glowing stars scattered along the sand aren't the result of some clever Photoshop skills. They're completely real and this isn't the first time it has happened on this beach in the Maldives. Mother Nature can be so awesome. It may look like an alien life-form has washed up on a beach, but this striking neon blue effect is a completely natural phenomenon.

This incredible display of glowing blue waves on Vaadhoo Island in the Maldives is the result of phytoplankton. The phytoplankton give off bioluminescence, or biological light. "Dinoflagellates" are a common kind of phytoplankton, and their give off a bright blue glow because their cell membrane responds to electrical signals and glows.

The blue “fire” in the picture is bioluminescence — tiny phytoplankton, microbes washed ashore by the tides, turning their chemical energy into light energy. The process is ancient, natural and found around the world. If you’ve never seen it (and please let us know if you have), it’s most easily observed on nice, warm beaches after dark.

“When jostled, each organism will give off a flash of blue light created by a chemical reaction within the cell,” wrote Peter Franks, a biologist at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, on the blog Deep-Sea News. “When billions and billions of cells are jostled — say, by a breaking wave — you get a seriously spectacular flash of light.”
As night falls on certain beaches around the world, the waves glow with an eerie blue light: tiny, neon dots that make it look as though stars are washing up on shore.

The surreal scene arises not from magic, but from plankton that have evolved to glow in order to startle or distract fish and other potential predators. Some scientists call it the “burglar alarm effect”: by lighting up, the plankton draw even larger predators that, in turn, eat the animal threatening them. The phosphorescence only occurs when the microorganisms, which exist worldwide, are agitated – such as when the water crashes onto the shore, someone steps on the wet sand or a paddle hits the waves.

The phenomenon’s effects can vary depending on time of year and weather, so sightings cannot always be predicted. Even so, here are three spots where you’re most likely to see the sea shine with its own light. The rare phenomenon is usually only seen further away from land when ships stir up the sea bed.

Maldives Visitors to the Indian Ocean archipelago say they have had the most luck seeing the blue glow from about July to February, especially during a new moon since the darkness of the sky helps intensify the light. The bioluminescence can occur throughout the country’s 26 atolls, but some of the most spectacular photographs have been captured on the grouping’s eastern islands, including Mudhdhoo, Vaadhoo and Rangali.

Regardless of the reason or the cause, these glowing waves are amazing.
I would pay almost anything to see these heavenly blue waves in person. They seem too beautiful to really exist. I didn't think I'd ever say this, but phytoplankton are so cool.

Then select the topping, here you can select two kinds. Topping itself so many to choose from, such as marshmallows, oreo, kitkat, almonds and various fruits. Then select the sauce for ice cream you. Finally you are free to select to use whipped cream or not. Because I do not really like, so I skip the whipped cream.

My Holiday Experience

Welcome back! In this time, I will tell my holiday experience that begins on December 26, 2014. This vacation was very special because it was accompanied by the New Year’s Eve. My family and I visited the city of Yogyakarta for 10 days. We chose the city because that's where my aunt lived, and she had just given birth a baby girl! I can’t wait to see that cute baby again! Yogyakarta is a city that is suitable for travelled, besides traveled, the city is suitable for culinary. Therefore, we establish to go to the city of Yogyakarta. Our trip started on Thursday, the day after the division my report. Previously we would like to use the train, but the tickets are already sold out so we used our private cars. It took 15 hours to get there. Very long time, isn’t it? We stayed in my aunt house, this house was big enough so it can contain some family members. Our first destination upon arrival in Yogya is my aunt house to rest before exploring and sightseeing in this beautiful city.

Day continues, arrived on Friday! Pleasant morning was good for our large family gathering. The first tourist attractions we will visit today is Prambanan Temple, in fact I've visited this place several times, but one of my cousins had never been there. Unfortunately, my aunt did not participate because she had to keep the baby at home. Prambanan Temple is located in Sleman, Yogyakarta. This temple is a masterpiece of Hindu culture, located in the Park of Prambanan. It was very hot day, like boiled in boiling water. Therefore, we used the umbrellas that was available in the car, there was many traders who sell umbrellas there, maybe just in case if the day will be rain or scorching heat like this. Before entering the territory of the Park of Prambanan, we have to buy the tickets available at the counter, I do not know for sure how much because I did not come to queue to buy the tickets hehehe (peace). When we were in, we do not enter into the temple because the day was so hot so we just took pictures from the front of the temple. Finished having fun at Prambanan Temple, our stomach felt hungry, we decided to eat at Rumah Makan Bebek Hj. Slamet. The duck here was very tasty! Spicy taste was felt continued to stick on the lips. Today was already late, we decided to immediately go home because my aunt and her baby already waiting for our arrival. The first day was pretty fun, here are some photos that we took while at Prambanan Temple!

On the second day, we were confused to go where. However, my aunt had an idea to visit Jogja City Mall. The mall recently built, the building was very large, you could say this mall is quite luxurious. If it compared with Bandung, JCM (Jogja City Mall) is proportional to the TSM (Trans Studio Mall). In the afternoon, we went to our destination. The place that we visit first was a place that sell delicious ice cream namely Ice Mania, but the shop was only available in Yogyakarta, the shape of this delicious ice cream is like this, Unique is not it?

After visited the JCM, we visited the restaurant named Nutellaria. This is the place where all kinds of foods and beverages made from nutella. For me this place was a paradise because I love the nutella! Our trip up on the third day. On this day, we will visit the Indrayanti Beach. Very far away, it took 2 hours to get there. And the view was incredible! Not in vain we drove a few miles to get there. Indrayanti Beach is the beach which it always visited by many people, here there are many traders who rent tents, tent-shaped umbrella and mat in it, the function of the tent was to shelter from the scorching sun. What a pleasant day could arrive there! Here are some photos I took there :)

The fourth day in Yogyakarta, we use to relax and indulge in one of the famous mall in Yogyakarta, namely Plaza Ambarukmo. In this mall we just ate and shopping, because our body feels tired so we choose to go back to the house. At home I play with my new cousin, her name is Yona! She is very adorable, beautiful and have white skin. On 7th of January, her age exactly 3 months. Supposedly she lived in Bandung, but because her mother enrolled in Yogya so she had to stay in Yogya.

Wednesday is the day that I waited because the night was New Year's Eve! But that night something bad was happen, one of my car key lost when we bought corn for the New Year’s Eve. Looks like it had fallen down somewhere and it was one of my driver fault because he was very sloppy. If there’s no key, we would not be able to go to Bandung. My mother and grandma so panic, since it costs very expensive to replace it with a new key and required a long process as well. So we decided to take the car spare key to send it past the train, it only took a day to get in Yogya. My driver also help by advertise it on the road we passed last night. And Thank God there is someone who find it! He said that the key lay in the street near the store that sells the corn! We gave money to him as a token of gratitude for the good that he did.

The days that we passed in Yogyakarta was fun, after visit many tourist attractions, do not forget we also visited places of culinary! Among Tengkleng Gajah, Kali Milk Tea, LOKAL Restaurant, Ice Mania, and many more. Although there was many kind of food, but a typical food of Bandung was more better! Bandung has always been the best in my opinion, in terms of weather, places, until the culinary. Our last day in Yogyakarta was bought souvenirs, we visited Batik Mirota, Dagadu Jogja and Malioboro, then the next day we took off to Bandung at 4 am.

So that was my holiday experience in Yogyakarta. Thank you for reading! Have a nice day.

The Little Mermaid

Long long ago, in the Deep Sea kingdom, there lived the sea king with his five mermaid daughters. Sirenetta was the youngest and the loveliest among them. She had a beautiful voice and everybody from far and wide came to hear her sing and praised her voice and her beauty.
One day, while Sirenetta was swimming on the surface of the water and watching ships go by, she saw a young man falling off his ship. She swam swiftly to save him from drowning and dragged him to the shore. Soon, people found the man on the shore and Sirenetta swam away. This man was actually the prince of a kingdom. When he became conscious, the prince looked around for the girl who had saved him but no one knew who she was.
Sirenetta often thought of the young man and fell in love with the prince, but she was sad because she could never be like all the other ladies he knew. They had two feet and she had a fish tail!
In the Deep Sea lived a witch with magical powers. One day, Sirenetta went to beg her for human legs. The witch said, “I need your beautiful voice! Only then I shall give you legs! But you must remember, every time you set your feet on the ground, it will hurt very badly!” Sirenetta agreed. She did not mind the pain. All she wanted was to be with the prince. As soon as she got her two feet Sirenetta became dumb. When she was leaving, the witch said, “If your prince marries anybody else, you shall dissolve in the sea water. You can never become a mermaid again!”
With the witch’s magic spell, Sirenetta found herself lying on the beach and the prince looking down at her. He asked, “Where are you from?” But she could not reply. The prince took her to his palace and looked after her. They became good friends and had a wonderful time together. Every step Sirenetta took hurt, but she bore it all silently. She loved the prince but the prince was in love with the beautiful maiden who had saved him. The prince did not realise it had been Sirenetta and she could not tell him.
Obeying the wishes of his father, the prince went to meet the daughter of a neighbouring king. Enchanted by her beauty the prince was convinced this was the same maiden who rescued him. He asked the princess to marry him. A grand wedding took place.
Sirenetta was heartbroken. That night, crying she ran to the seashore. There she saw four mermaids. Why, they were her sisters! One of them handed her a knife and said, “Here, Sirenetta! This is a magic knife! We gave our long hair locks to the witch of the Deep Sea and she gave this to us in return. Kill your prince and you shall turn into a mermaid again! Then you can come and live with us!”
Sirenetta took the magic knife and went to the prince’s room at night. But she loved him so much that she could not kill him. She knew that at dawn, she would vanish into the sea, just as the witch of the Deep Sea had told her earlier. She sat on the shore and wept silently.
Suddenly, from the sky came a pink cloud. It lifted her from the land into the sky. “Where am I?’ asked Sirenetta, for now she could talk. The beautiful fairies replied, “We are the air fairies. You are now one of us because you did a good deed for the person you love. Come with us.”
From then on, the little mermaid, Sirenetta, lived in the sky with the fairies.

The Amazing Structure: St Basil's Cathedral

Hello again, this time i will share the amazing place was named Saint Basil's Cathedral. Let's get started!

Saint Basil's is located at one end of Red Square, just across from the Spasskaya Tower of the Kremlin. Not particularly large, it consists of nine chapels built on a single foundation. The riot of color and shapes that is St. Basil's Cathedral is unmatched anywhere else in the world. The French diplomat Marquis de Custine commented that it combined "the scales of a golden fish, the enamelled skin of a serpent, the changeful hues of the lizard, the glossy rose and azure of the pigeon's neck" and wondered at "the men who go to worship God in this box of confectionery work."

The powerfully eastern design of St. Basil's reflects both its location between Europe and Asia and its historical origins. Since the Kazan Qolsharif mosque had been the principal symbol of the Khanate captured by Ivan the Terrible, some elements from the mosque were incorporated into the cathedral to symbolize the victory.

Although the towers and domes appear chaotic, there is symmetry and symbolism in its design. There are eight domed chapels symbolizing the eight assaults on Kazan: four large and octagonal and four small and square. In the center is a tent-roofed spire topped with a small golden dome.

The ninth chapel on the east side added in 1588 for Basil's tomb interrupts the symmetery of design somewhat. It can be recognized on the outside by its green-and-gold dome studded with with golden pyramids.

The interior is a maze of galleries winding from chapel to chapel and level to level via narrow stairways and low arches. The walls are painted in floral and geometric patterns.

In a garden at the front of the cathedral stands a bronze statue commemorating Dmitry Pozharsky and Kuzma Minin, who rallied Russia's volunteer army against the Polish invaders during the Time of Troubles in the late 16th and early 17th centuries.

The statue was originally constructed in the center of Red Square, but the Soviet government felt it obstructed parades and moved the statue in front of the cathedral in 1936.

Last, I will tell you about the history of Saint Basil's Cathedral. St. Basil's was built to commemorate the capture of the Tatar stronghold of Kazan in 1552, which occured on the Feast of the Intercession of the Virgin. The cathedral was thus officially named Cathedral of the Intercession of the Virgin by the Moat (the moat being one that originally ran beside the Kremlin).
But the cathedral was popularly known as St. Basil's Cathedral, after St. Basil the Blessed (a.k.a. St. Basil Fool for Christ; 1468-1552), almost from the beginning. Basil impressed Ivan in 1547 when he foretold a fire that swept through Moscow that year. Upon his death, Basil was buried in the Trinity Cathedral that stood on this site at the time.
The Cathedral of the Intercession a.k.a. St. Basil's Cathedral was constructed from 1555 to 1560. Legend has it that after it was completed, Ivan had the architect blinded in order to prevent him from building a more magnificent building for anyone else. (In fact, he went on to build another cathedral in Vladimir.)
In 1588, Tsar Fyodor Ivanovich added a ninth chapel added on the eastern side to house the grave of St. Basil.
In modern times, St. Basil's came very close to falling victim to Stalin, who resented that it prevented his soldiers from leaving Red Square en masse. But the architect Baranovsky stood on the cathedral's steps and threatened to cut his own throat if the masterpiece was destroyed and Stalin relented (but punished Baranovsky with five years in prison).
More recently, St. Basil's Cathedral has suffered significant damage from weather and neglect. It was not until the Millennium that funds were allocated to restore its foundations and flaking surfaces.
