The Little Mermaid

Long long ago, in the Deep Sea kingdom, there lived the sea king with his five mermaid daughters. Sirenetta was the youngest and the loveliest among them. She had a beautiful voice and everybody from far and wide came to hear her sing and praised her voice and her beauty.
One day, while Sirenetta was swimming on the surface of the water and watching ships go by, she saw a young man falling off his ship. She swam swiftly to save him from drowning and dragged him to the shore. Soon, people found the man on the shore and Sirenetta swam away. This man was actually the prince of a kingdom. When he became conscious, the prince looked around for the girl who had saved him but no one knew who she was.
Sirenetta often thought of the young man and fell in love with the prince, but she was sad because she could never be like all the other ladies he knew. They had two feet and she had a fish tail!
In the Deep Sea lived a witch with magical powers. One day, Sirenetta went to beg her for human legs. The witch said, “I need your beautiful voice! Only then I shall give you legs! But you must remember, every time you set your feet on the ground, it will hurt very badly!” Sirenetta agreed. She did not mind the pain. All she wanted was to be with the prince. As soon as she got her two feet Sirenetta became dumb. When she was leaving, the witch said, “If your prince marries anybody else, you shall dissolve in the sea water. You can never become a mermaid again!”
With the witch’s magic spell, Sirenetta found herself lying on the beach and the prince looking down at her. He asked, “Where are you from?” But she could not reply. The prince took her to his palace and looked after her. They became good friends and had a wonderful time together. Every step Sirenetta took hurt, but she bore it all silently. She loved the prince but the prince was in love with the beautiful maiden who had saved him. The prince did not realise it had been Sirenetta and she could not tell him.
Obeying the wishes of his father, the prince went to meet the daughter of a neighbouring king. Enchanted by her beauty the prince was convinced this was the same maiden who rescued him. He asked the princess to marry him. A grand wedding took place.
Sirenetta was heartbroken. That night, crying she ran to the seashore. There she saw four mermaids. Why, they were her sisters! One of them handed her a knife and said, “Here, Sirenetta! This is a magic knife! We gave our long hair locks to the witch of the Deep Sea and she gave this to us in return. Kill your prince and you shall turn into a mermaid again! Then you can come and live with us!”
Sirenetta took the magic knife and went to the prince’s room at night. But she loved him so much that she could not kill him. She knew that at dawn, she would vanish into the sea, just as the witch of the Deep Sea had told her earlier. She sat on the shore and wept silently.
Suddenly, from the sky came a pink cloud. It lifted her from the land into the sky. “Where am I?’ asked Sirenetta, for now she could talk. The beautiful fairies replied, “We are the air fairies. You are now one of us because you did a good deed for the person you love. Come with us.”
From then on, the little mermaid, Sirenetta, lived in the sky with the fairies.

The Amazing Structure: St Basil's Cathedral

Hello again, this time i will share the amazing place was named Saint Basil's Cathedral. Let's get started!

Saint Basil's is located at one end of Red Square, just across from the Spasskaya Tower of the Kremlin. Not particularly large, it consists of nine chapels built on a single foundation. The riot of color and shapes that is St. Basil's Cathedral is unmatched anywhere else in the world. The French diplomat Marquis de Custine commented that it combined "the scales of a golden fish, the enamelled skin of a serpent, the changeful hues of the lizard, the glossy rose and azure of the pigeon's neck" and wondered at "the men who go to worship God in this box of confectionery work."

The powerfully eastern design of St. Basil's reflects both its location between Europe and Asia and its historical origins. Since the Kazan Qolsharif mosque had been the principal symbol of the Khanate captured by Ivan the Terrible, some elements from the mosque were incorporated into the cathedral to symbolize the victory.

Although the towers and domes appear chaotic, there is symmetry and symbolism in its design. There are eight domed chapels symbolizing the eight assaults on Kazan: four large and octagonal and four small and square. In the center is a tent-roofed spire topped with a small golden dome.

The ninth chapel on the east side added in 1588 for Basil's tomb interrupts the symmetery of design somewhat. It can be recognized on the outside by its green-and-gold dome studded with with golden pyramids.

The interior is a maze of galleries winding from chapel to chapel and level to level via narrow stairways and low arches. The walls are painted in floral and geometric patterns.

In a garden at the front of the cathedral stands a bronze statue commemorating Dmitry Pozharsky and Kuzma Minin, who rallied Russia's volunteer army against the Polish invaders during the Time of Troubles in the late 16th and early 17th centuries.

The statue was originally constructed in the center of Red Square, but the Soviet government felt it obstructed parades and moved the statue in front of the cathedral in 1936.

Last, I will tell you about the history of Saint Basil's Cathedral. St. Basil's was built to commemorate the capture of the Tatar stronghold of Kazan in 1552, which occured on the Feast of the Intercession of the Virgin. The cathedral was thus officially named Cathedral of the Intercession of the Virgin by the Moat (the moat being one that originally ran beside the Kremlin).
But the cathedral was popularly known as St. Basil's Cathedral, after St. Basil the Blessed (a.k.a. St. Basil Fool for Christ; 1468-1552), almost from the beginning. Basil impressed Ivan in 1547 when he foretold a fire that swept through Moscow that year. Upon his death, Basil was buried in the Trinity Cathedral that stood on this site at the time.
The Cathedral of the Intercession a.k.a. St. Basil's Cathedral was constructed from 1555 to 1560. Legend has it that after it was completed, Ivan had the architect blinded in order to prevent him from building a more magnificent building for anyone else. (In fact, he went on to build another cathedral in Vladimir.)
In 1588, Tsar Fyodor Ivanovich added a ninth chapel added on the eastern side to house the grave of St. Basil.
In modern times, St. Basil's came very close to falling victim to Stalin, who resented that it prevented his soldiers from leaving Red Square en masse. But the architect Baranovsky stood on the cathedral's steps and threatened to cut his own throat if the masterpiece was destroyed and Stalin relented (but punished Baranovsky with five years in prison).
More recently, St. Basil's Cathedral has suffered significant damage from weather and neglect. It was not until the Millennium that funds were allocated to restore its foundations and flaking surfaces.

Every single day we worked, we made the decorations like a miniature of puppet, making the concept of design and other decorations which it will be put up in the event. A week before the event begins, sometimes we used to ask a permission to leave the lesson. Our hard work was not in vain, it can be seen by the success from this event.
The first activity of Matswapati event is the parade around some streets in Bandung. Parade lasted for 3 hours from 7 to 10 am. Unfortunately, the committee was not allowed to attend the parade because we have to optimize the preparation for the event. This parade was followed by SD Karang Pawulang, SD Kartika, 5 Junior High School, 2 Junior High School and the entire class of 10 students of SMAN 3 Bandung.
Exactly at 10 am, we started to open the gate so the visitors can entering the area of Matswapati. After the parade finished, it's time for the opening event. This opening attended by Mr. Mayor of Bandung, Ridwan Kamil with his wife to gave some response or speech.
After that, the event went smoothly as expected. In Matswapati, I met many old friends of mine. One of them is Alifya Rofi, he was my elementary school friend. I asked him what do you think about Matswapati? Then he answered it was nice and interesting, because it's rarely schools provide cultural a big festival like this.
One of the most exciting events I think is the culmination of this event, it was when Glenn Freadly concert. He was the one of my favorite singer. The music that he brought was very good, comfortable and made a romantic feel. With his melodious voice, the hearts of the audience, including myself amazed admiration. He and his crew gave the appearance of a very passionate and enthusiastic until i was satisfied with the songs that they were presented. My grandmother enjoyed the show too until evening! She was the most spectacular grandma i have ever seen.

These are the picture of me and my friends in Matswapati.

Unforgettable Experience

Hello again! Now I want to share with all of you about my unforgettable experience that when i with my friend going to watch a horror movie at 21. This experience is the most unforgettable. It hard for me to forget, and stays fresh in my memory all the time cause its really really awkward, funny and a little bit 'scary' moment. So that day, i and my friend, Rabila plan to watch a horror movie called 'Conjuring' with our other friends. But, that day we had a private lesson schedule too! The hard part is when the lesson's finished, the movie begins. We really confused, how do we get to the theater on time.
The school's bell rang. I and the others gathered in front of the school's wall magazine to discuss about the movie that we will watch. After that, i and Rabila go to the place where we do a private lesson. The lesson lasts for 2 hours. Then we study as usual. Tik tok tik tok.....it was already 2 am!! We're still waiting and not focus anymore. Finally the teacher allowed us to leave the lesson.
When we on the streets, we dont think 'fresh' again, in our thought we just wanted to get to the 21 as fast as possible no matter what. Until we saw a rickshaw! We went straight to the rickshaw and sit in it, and hope we survive until the destination. And for me, its an awkward situation cause we pass through our school and our friends saw us in the rickshaw :) Im really shy, my face turned red like a chili, moreover its really hot and dusty, i dont even know how my face looks like.
Finally we arrived! We pay then run fast to the 21's building. Our tickets already booked, so we were a little quieter. My friend, Sena called me and say that they're already in the theater and the movie already started! Argh i think i had a stomachace when i hear that. After we arrived in the cinema, we searching the theater.....and we found it but the door was open! Because we're curious, we look inside and BOOM! Its annabelle doll! The scene is reaaaaally scare and the annbelle doll looks like really big! We shout out loud and my legs shaking. The officer came to us then asked our sit numbers, she take us to our seats and we saw our friends there with hands covering their face. I also do that thing cause im pretty scare:) After that we enjoyed the movie until the end.      It was really an unforgettable experience in my life and i will not forget it.
